Making a first appointment

If you’d like to contact me to arrange an initial consultation, you’ll find my details below, or please use the form opposite.  I shall respond promptly - within 24 hours Monday to Friday.

If calling, leave your name and number and a convenient time for me to call. Please repeat your phone number if leaving a message on my confidential answer-phone to ensure I am able to return your call.  If you don’t hear from me, please assume I have not been able to decipher your phone number accurately and contact me via the form opposite.

Please note I don’t offer psychotherapy to young people under the age of 18 years old. 

If you aren’t located near Bath or are looking for an on-line only therapist I’m pleased to introduce Dr Ralph Holtom (click to read more and make an appointment), a senior colleague and trusted associate of Bath Psychotherapy Practice who is able to offer psychoanalysis and psychotherapy on-line.

What to expect

The initial consultation is an opportunity to talk to me about what has brought you to my door. You will have an experience of seeing how it feels to talk to me. I will talk to you a little about the process of therapy I offer, what it involves and we will then be able to consider whether it seems right for you. This process will usually extend over at least two appointments, before I would invite you to begin sessions or perhaps wait a short while for a suitable session time.
